Christmas Orders! Orders!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Especially to my faithful customers, so this is the final orders for Christmas. My last assignment ended at 6pm on the Eve of Christmas, Sue managed to receive her goodies including her pineapple tarts and Dahlia biscuits (hmm feels like Hari Raya) just on time.
All packed and ready to deliver.




This one is special, a customer wanted raisins and chocolate chips... well had to experiment it and turned out good.

Butter Cake (Chiffon Style)


A tip on any butter cake using sugar batter method is not to overmix, so most butter cake uses additional step which is the chiffon style to get that soft chiffon texture cake.

Cake Module 1 - Brownie

This is the 5th and final lesson for Cake Module 1. Three new students tagged to the class, namely Hong Wen, Dewi & Siti. I am amazed at how interested Hong Wen is in baking. He is 17 yr old young guy, I can see with great future in baking if he pursues further.


Christmas Log Cake - Workshop

The weekend ended with yet again high note. It's again a busy week for me as usual. Glad that the orders are delivered on time and workshops went smoothly. Rubiah stayed on after the muffin class to attend a private class on Christmas Log cake. So this is her log cake

In my opinion it is a good way to transport your cupcakes for picnics, parties.... cupcakes on delivery.... why not!! It can transport 36 cupcakes just like your briefcase.

Rainbow-Sponge Cake


Just before Hari Raya Haji I decided to bake something from my Mum's old recipe book. Hmmm I thought I saw an interesting drawing from her cookbook and asked her about it.

Swiss Roll

These gorgeous and beautiful swiss roll done by Sadiah whom attended my Cake Module 1 workshop. Now she is confident about her swiss rolls. I extracted her feedback recently.


Hi Izah, I’ve tried the swiss roll and I’m very satisfied with the result. Your method of using the rolling pin to roll is very useful, it turned out to be nicely rolled. Thank you very much to share us with this good method.

Basic Sponge and cake decor

It has been a roller coaster week for me,with final module practical exams on 3 Dec 08.... (ended with a happy note) although I didnt sleep for 48 hrs due to work commitment (month end closing... lucky the essence of chicken helped me thru,,,,,). I must say the other day... someone posted me a question " how I managed my role as a mother, full time job, part time instructor and a student myself?" Well my answer is very simple.... time management and it is not the quantity of time you spent with your love once it is the quality time..... I am glad that my family has been very supportive in career path and my passion for baking.


Anyway to end the week, Hani a cheerfull - full time tutor had a private class in my kitchen. She is always generous with her smile wanted to learn on basic sponge cake, so while waiting the cake to bake.... I had a chance to demo to her how to ice the cake.... and some basic cake decorating.



Pastry- Biscotti & Paris Sticks


Biscotti made of generous amount of spices, fruit and nuts. You could take the cinnamon... freshly out from the oven.








Nope this is not eclairs.... this is made of biscuits pasrty... sandwich with raspberry jam and dipped into chocolate ganache. My children love them.....



Birthday Novelty Cake



Last 29 November 08, 4 students namely Rozita, Junaidah, Yattie and Rubiah joined my cake decorating class. The class was filled with fun jokes and laughter here and there, mostly it was their first time in cake decorating. Teachniques for piping of rose was introduced.

Hmmm... in my opinion I thought they are good I must say....
