Pineapple Tarts

Hey peeps... its getting closer to EID.... and I get freak out sometimes thinking how to race with time to get all done in time .... anyway this popular pastry or tangerine cookie is populars amongst Sporean. You can see them almost all the festive season.... Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and also Deepavali. At first I was thinking I had to do about 2500 pcs but finally looked up again the final numbers now 3k...




It reminded me of the time Channel 8 came over to shoot my pineapple tart making...hmmm :)

When I was uploading this images I suddenly remembered I did not take a pic of some of the birthday cake I did this weekend, including one for Anna, a German soccer team supporter who wanted me to do a German flag cake for her birthday.... maybe I should get one from her.
Anyway, the weekend ended with a high note with the tarlet pastry class went well..... yet another long session.

This class was attended by Kak Zu, Kak Momtaz and Kak Som.... all my regular students... session I must say private grp for them. Class ended very late, cos puff pastry class requires resting time of the dough and I wanted them have a hands on of baking it.... So enjoy the puffy..puffy

Pastry-Apple Strudel (Austrian) & Petite Chicken Patties

Petite - Puff pastry with chicken filling... yum yum


This version Apple Strudel originates from Austria. The dough skin is pulled till translucent..... reminds me of how the "mamaks' spin the roti prata dough in the air.... that how this the dough showed be and filled with apple filling.... rolled with towels just like swiss roll method and there you are.... flaky crispy.... right from the oven.






Pastry-Swiss Onion Tart & Cheese Patties

This version of Savoury Pastry called Swiss Onion Tarts quite similar to Quiche. Yummy when its eaten hot
Cheese Patties..... kids loves it hot.

Pastry-Tuna and Cheese Puff


The usually tuna puff pastry..... but this one topped with cheddar cheese.




This is how you twist the pastry for cheese sticks





Nice golden brown..... so remember if you have excess pastry dough this is what you can use them for...... Cheese Sticks..... kids love them




Pastry-Pithivier and Canolli

Bon Apetite!!! Bonquor!!
Almond filling Pithivier originates from France...... this pastry recipe uses butter instead of pastry margarine. More healthier..... no trans fat but needs to refrigerate each fold. Five minutes before baking time to sprinkle icing sugar and re bake till the glossy look.



Canolli.... originates from Italy... Sicily. With cream filling custard.... choc chips. The dough is deep fried and later dipped with chocolate on each sides and piped with filling. Taste like ice cream.... another Italian dessert.... Mamamia!!!





Pastry- Biscotti & Paris Sticks


Biscotti made of generous amount of spices, fruit and nuts. You could take the cinnamon... freshly out from the oven.








Nope this is not eclairs.... this is made of biscuits pasrty... sandwich with raspberry jam and dipped into chocolate ganache. My children love them.....
